Babaylanes Inc. recently launched the in-country implementation of the regional project, (IM)PART. The project is a multi-country initiative led by APCOM with country partners from the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Lao PDR, and supported by VOICE.
(IM)PART advocates for LGBTQI Social and Economic Inclusion by building up on the achievements, experiences, reflections and lessons learned during the implementation of the recently concluded project, Finance Inc. This is done by rolling out the developed modules and research materials to numerous private companies in the country for the purpose of increasing engagements between the private sector and civil society.
Over the past months, workshops on SOGIESC, well-being, and inclusion were held with Transcom, Medtronic, and Light Rail Manila corporation. Babaylanes also had engagements with Black Sheep to increase SOGIESC sensitivity among their team and to make their LGBTQI content more inclusive. Babaylanes also opened the discussion on transgender struggles with Boldr together with our member, Stef Aranas.
Moving forward, Babaylanes and APCOM aim to engage more private institutions in developing inclusive policies and affirmative programs.
